I am trying to create a package including Crystal Reports in VB6. I get missing files

U2dapp.dll
u2dpost.dll
u2fcr.dll
u2fsepv.dll
u2xml.dll

However these files don't exist on my system.

if i ignore the files, I get 'set up cannot continue because some files are out of date' on the users machine.

Click OK to Update.

The machine reboots, but I get exactly the same message the next time i run setup.exe.

Any thoughts??

hi

those files are required if you planning to give user ability to export your report into other application file such as excel or pdf .
so don't worry if those files are not included in your package unless you include report export ability in your application.
your application should work properly even any of this files are not installed on your system ,,, the only thing will happen that the export button will not work properly

returning to your problem you did not mention how do you make your package ,,, are you using package and deployment wizard or another setup software.
I recommend you to use innosetup software it is free and easy to use you can get it from
regards

I'm using package and deployment wizard.

I'm not too fussed about the user being able to export, the problem is that I get the 'Set up cannot continue because some files are out of date' on the users machine when I try and install.

1-what is the operating system you trying to install your software on.
2-have you tried to install this software on another system
3-when does this outdated message appear,,, while setup initializing or when starting copying files

1. W2K
2. I've tried it on two different machines and get the same message.
3. It appears during the copy phase.

I've found all the missing dll's (they were on the Crystal disks) and recreated the set up disks, however I still get the message during the install.

I've sorted this now by copying the dll's manually, although this didn't help with the set up error. Thanks for the help.
