A Client has an HP P4014n which has been working well, but recently developed a symptom where the last page of a long job (maybe 120 pages) will be missing portions of that page. The symptoms would indicate that it's doing a printer reset before finishing the information in buffer, but that's just a hunch. No error is displayed. The same job can be sent to a different printer and prints successfully. Output is PCL5, if that helps.
Also, if the Client re-sends just the last few pages, they print completely.
Any ideas? The job is approx. 3MB in whole.

Thanks in advance.

Does it have an embedded NIC, or can you swap one?
If using an HP JetDirect card, try updating the firmware.
Check for firmware updates for the printer also.

Seen this with PCL driver issues on a 4200. After switching to the latest HP UPD PCL6 v5.1 the problem disappeared.

It's a quick thing to try out anywho.

We have to send the jobs as PCL5 due to the application requirements. The problem was resolved (I believe) by changing the print spooler configuration at the UNIX server from HPNP/NETCAT (port9100) to LPR.
