This one has be baffled. I'm deploying identical systems, all running XP SP2, fully updated before leaving my department. Users are remote, using Cisco VPN and RSA tokens to connect to our network. Systems are members of the domain using domain logins.

On a couple systems (so far), when they try to go to our OWA page, it begins to load...the vertical line appears showing the separation of the two areas of the OWA page, but then it won't go any further.

I took our system home last night, logged on just as they would and had no problems whatsoever. I can go to either the page and have it open automatically, or go to and provide my credentials and it opens just fine. Other users are reporting that they can open OWA without any problems as well.

I'm baffled because the users are able to begin loading the page, but then it stops and won't load any further.

Ideas?

Are the users who can't open OWA sitting behind firewalls? I've had the exact same syumptoms many times with owa as some of my employee's sit behind very strict application based firewalls at banks. Basically they have port 80 open but analyze the http traffic and some of the OWA stuff gets picked up as unix commands and othe gibberish. I switched my owa to SSL and it fixed about 90% of the problems.

They may have firewalls built into routers they have at their home offices. I'll check and see if there's any similarity among those with the issue.

I had a problem with this and it was never resolved although all problems came from ANY user used OWA from 2 ISPs.

Is that the commonality?

I don't believe so. I just issued new systems to these users and they're connecting from their home offices for the first time. I do not believe they attempted to connect from a separate source, but I will double check.

These same users had no problems on their old systems, and all systems are identically imaged. I may have one send me the system back for testing though, because it is very odd. I took control of the systems remotely to ensure they were doing the right things and saw this issue for myself.

Never seen this happen before...ususally the problem is they can't connect, but in this case they are connecting and the page begins to load, then just stops altogether.
