I have an exchange 2003 SP2 server running on win 2003 server. OWA is enabled and seems to work fine for me. In the last week I have had many users tell that if they click a link inside an email, they get prompted for their username and password. We are using basic authentication. I suspect that a IIS wants windows authentication to access the bin folder. The ussername password box comes up with the url\username in the username box after the user tries to authenticate again with their username and password.

Any ideas on what to check are appreciated.

Following the KB article I listed in my last post, I was able to get the Exchange virtual directories rebuilt in a bout 15 minutes. It is kind of a heavy handed approach but it resets the permissions on those directories and clears the IIS metabase for those virtual directories. Have accessed OWA from my Domain member laptop and my home desktop with both IE and firefox with no problems. If they keep having issues that I can't replicate I am going to declare id10t errors as being paart of an unsupported configuration.
