OWA Redirection

Howdy,

I just completed a the setup of Exchange 2007. I have exchange 2007 installed and running in conjunction with my Exchange 2000 server My biggest problem has been with OWA. I was under the impression that if users log into

https://mail.mydomain.com/exchange

that a redirection would take place (if needed) to find the server where the mailbox resides. That doesn’t seem to work at all. I get a page cannot be displayed error. Another issue I am facing is having the default website redirect to

https://mail.mydomain.com.

I have my 2000 box setup this way so users do not have to type out the entire URL. I have tried googling for OWA 2007 setup and configuration but have not found too much support. Can anyone recommend any websites, books, or suggestions?

In addition I can log in to OWA if the mailbox resides on the Exchange 2007 server by going to

Https://mail.mydomain.com/owa

a) Move all users to the new box. This removes quite a bit of the problem.
b) Search for 0 second redirector from one folder to another. I've covered this numerous times but can't recall off the top of my head.

Good idea. Moving the users. I think that should be the best move. My frustration is thinking that this should work as advertised. Then again it is Microsoft.

There is a setting on Ex2007 that sets the OWA home page and that should redirect the users from /exchange on one server to /owa on another.

the /exchange address is for legacy access to Exchange 2003 mailbox servers (the 2007 server should redirect them). The /owa address is for users of the 2007 Exchange system.

I understood it that if they do oldserver/exchange it doesn't redirect them to newserver/owa if they have been moved. Is that the situation?

Zelandakh, Yes that is the situtation. The /exchange does not reirect to mailboxes on the old 2000 server or new mailboxes on the new server. I get a page cannot be displayed.
