Everyone can send mail internaly(local and external), but when logged in through OWA from work I can send mail to all my internal AD users/addresses. But when sending external mail through my OWA, the mail is not going out. Sent myself alot of test emails and nothing comes through. Anyone have any clue what might be the problem?

Bryan

Most strange

1. Has this ever worked to your knowledge
2. Does the mail you send via OWA appear in the queues
3. Are there any errors in the events logs to work on.
4. Are you using a exchange Front-end server

Andy

1. I do not know. I am learning as I am doing this.
2. I will check when I get home.
3. No errors that I have seen.
4. Yes it is a standalone front end server.

Bryan :)

3.. That's the queue on the Exchange server
In ESM\Administrative Groups\first adm group\servers\yourserver\queues

Can you see your test mails sitting in the queue

In Exchange you can configure DNS in 2 ways, the most common is of course to point you exchange servers at your DC's and configure you DC's to forward to ISP's DNS for all unknown domains.. all standard stuff.
However you can configure the SMTP protocol to use an external DNS server, even through the exchange server itself is configure to work in the normal way.
Now I don't expect this to be the issue as it's don't explain why only OWA is affected.. but it's worth checking.

The following KB will show you where to look, make sure this is NOT configured.

Ok it looks like I am recieving all mail now. Now localy and through OWA I can not send out mail. I am getting alot of SMTP errors. Any Ideas? I was working before.

Bryan
