I am completely stuck! I have OWA running on my Exchange 2000 server both internally and externally.

I now want to configure a windows 2000 server running IIS to connect to the exchange server using OWA.

I am from an NT background and have only recently been introduced to win2k, hence the newby sounding question!!

Any help will be greatly appreciated,

james

My understanding is that you must install exchange 2k to use OWA.

Is this a definate? I thought you could acces OWA on a server that wasnt running Exchange I thought that was the way it was supposed to be set up?

I dont mean to sound funny it's just by installing exchange I may as well just leave it on the actual exchange server

From the help file:
Outlook Web Access is not an installation option; it is installed automatically when you install Exchange.

Does it say anything in there about how you connect to it from a different server using IIS ?

There is an article on creating a front end server. When you install this new Exchange 2000 server into your organization. You make it a Front end server by selecting properties of the new server throuhg ESM and checking the box. This server can now be used for the front end request. It will check the users credentials and forward him to the correct back-end server for webmail. That is the simple version and it works.

Very good - thanks for your help, I dont think I am gonna bother going down this line it's just another expense. Anyone know how to change the default font used (Times New Romans) ?
