Hi all,

Ever since our IIS security has been tightened on my server, some of my users have been having trouble logging on to Outlook on the web, they are asked for the password at first, then the headers and footers appear, after that the password dialog box re-appears, and even if the user retries itwon't let him log on. If I enter the admin's username and password it alsodoes not work, but if I enter the users logon info after that it works.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated,

TIA

Try the to turn on the HTTP Keep-Alives option.
To do this, follow these steps:
In the Microsoft Management Console, open the Internet Information Services snap-in.
Right-click the affected virtual server.
Click Properties.
On the Web Site tab, select the HTTP Keep-Alives check box.
Click OK. Thank you,

Thanks Frank, but that was already on.

That was already on. I also noticed that once I login to OWA one the admin accounts in ANY computer, it will no longer ask for the password for about half an hour, then it starts to do it again...

Do you have a Web Proxy server you are using or are you connecting directly to the OWA server? Thank you,

directly through to the OWA server. "If it's stupid but works, it isn't stupid."

yey! I think I found it.

I had changed the permissions on the winnt/system32 folder. It appears that the winnt/system32/inetsrv directory needs to be accessed by the users who log on to the system. Once I give my domain users access to at least read the directory everything started working fine.

That's the IISAdmin folder, I guess it's used by OWA for authentication.

For now that looks like the solution. "If it's stupid but works, it isn't stupid."
