OWA failed to install properly

We have been running Exchange Server v5.5 SP4 with OWA for sometime now. We recently were having problems with OWA running properly and decided we needed to reinstall OWA.
Whenever we try to install we get the following error:

OWA failed to install properly

An unknown error has occurred

Unknown facility 076a-c00e xxxx


Microsoft document Q294700 points to Veritas Backup Exec as the culprit. We do uses Veritas Backup Exec, but following the instructions of the document does not solve the problem. I wonder if there are some regestry entries that need to be deleted? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Went thru the same problem about 2 months ago. We were not running the Veritas software and continued to get error messages similiar to yours. Don't know if this will help but we ended up re-installing IIS 4.0 and OWA finally worked.
Might be a possible registry change that would speed things up but not aware of what keys/values need to be tweaked. Exchange 5.5 SP4; NT 4.0 post SP6a; IIS 4.0
