OWA, Exchange Server in DMZ

We have an Exchange 5.5 sever (Win NT 4.0) that is also working as OWA and Internet Mail Service connected directly to the internet

We're planning to put the server in a DMZ (Pix 515e). Is it a good thing to do or there are other ways to secure this machine. (Aside from throw it in an basement)

What would you suggest to be the best setup for this server?
