I have just setup OWA for an Exc org that has a default e-mail address as "@parent.com".
I have set OWA up for users using a "@child.com" e-mail addres.
the "parent" and "child" mailboxes are on seperate servers and the OWA is also on a seperate front-end server.
If I login with users with the address suffix as "@parent.com" (default) it works fine, but If I logon as "@child.com" if fails.
I have found this knowledge base article but do not understand the alternative it lists.
The default email domain cannot be changed.
below is the paragraph I'm having trouble with...
Alternatively, you can define the appropriate virtual server or virtual root for the existing SMTP domain that is specified in the e-mail address of the mailboxes through Exchange 2000 server. For example, on the Exchange 2000 server that hosts mailboxes with an SMTP addresses of @bbb.corp.com, which is different than the default naming policy of @corp.com, you can configure a virtual root called "bbb" that handles SMTP:bbb.corp.com.
If the user wants to open the mailboxes with the Exchange 2000 Web client, they can connect to the address.
You can also create a new virtual server called bbb, for example, so that users can connect to the address to open their mailbox.

Thanks
