Having a problem overwriting 98 SE........

I shut down unnessary programs........I uninstallded Norton so I no longer have an antivirus.......

When I click on set up off the 98SE CD in scans files etc...And then displays a message saying I may have a anti virus program running in the backgroun and that I would have to shut it off to continue....Ii can't find anything running...So I can't get past that spot in the overwrite process.....

What can I do ?

Thanks
TF

How about building a boot floppy, boot from it, then run the setup again from there.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

What are you trying to accomplish besides just running the Win98SE setup? Are you looking to reinstall Windows, format the drive, etc?

Perhaps with a better description we can give you a better solution...

Just trying to replace a missing file..........And possibly repair reg links.....Basically a refresh...

Thanks

Use system file checker to replace files. Norton Utilities will clean up the registry.
