ok, i just made a popup menu in fireworks, and now i imported it into dreamweaver. i split the page into two frames, one with the menu, and one where the content of the link chosen from the menu is displayed. the content frame overlaps most of the menu, making the menu choices impossible to see. how do i make it so that the menu can overlap the content frame, or, so that the popup menu open up in another frame?

Knowing the very cut and dry nature of Frames.

I really cannot understand your question, more detail please and a link is even better. "Never underestimate the power of determination"

that's the website, sorry for the hosting company's banners, but i didn't put them there... if you scroll down on the first frame, u'll see my banner, and a menu (contact us pringint, networking etc...) if you hover on one of the buttons, a drop down menu should come down.. the problem is that the menu comes down in the first frame, making most of the menu invisible.. what i want it to do, is to overlap the second frame, so all the choices in the menu are visible

oh I see

I think you'd be better off with layers rather than frames than in this case.

Standard html page - and layers all around the puppy.

thanks for the quick response... do you know if i can name layers and make the menu change the layer to another page? or do i have to reload the menu on every page?

I rarely use layers, i'm more of a tables within tables kinda guy.

But you can hide/show layers. And I know that there has been some discussion on here about using layers to launch other objects. "Never underestimate the power of determination"

btw

Any luck with your crosspost in the javascript forum? "Never underestimate the power of determination"

thanks mxjunkie... :D

my off the cuff comment was directed at the crossposting into other forums.

Bear in mind people on this forum and other forums will work from 5 seconds to hours or more on your problem. It is not right to post in many locations to have many people working on the same problem.

Sure you may feel like you get a quicker response with more options - but at least post that in each forum that you have asked in another location - let the person trying to help you see what others have done.

mmmh, i don't understand you still:\ the guy in the other forum is not me.. heh (very similar problem though)... you can get an admin to check the ips... he's got a differend handle too... :\ oh well... i guess ur in the wrong:D but thanks for your answers and whatnot.. next time i'll search harder for a solution b4 posting...

I could have swore I saw it in the javascript forum. But its not there now.

My apologies - my mistake. "Never underestimate the power of determination"
