We currently have an Isoetec EZ-1 phone system. It is wired to a Bogen DMA80 with TP-S module for overhead ring/page. We are replacing this with Avaya IP500 V2, but we are having trouble figuring out the wiring from the IP500 to the Bogen amp. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to get the paging to work without the pagepal, but they still want the night ring capability. We got our pagepal in today. I set up another analog line for the night ring. I can get the night ring to work OR the page, based on the switch settings, but I can't get them both to work on any switch setting.

Just to clarify, I have an analog line set to page plugged into the modular port on the pagepal. I have a second standard analog line connected to the night ring. I can get the ring to work if I Set the pagepal to DL OR if I set it to LS AND unplug the modular jack. I was reading that in order for it to work in the LS setting, I need to use a trunk line for paging because the analog line set to paging won't release the pagepal to allow the ring to work. We are using the basic edition and I have NO idea how to set up a trunk line for paging.

Well, I managed to get both the ring and the page working together. I used the music input for the page instead of the modular jack. I think the only problem might be that the ring will override the page if a call comes in while paging, but we don't get many calls here so I think we can live with it. Thank you to everyone for all your input.

Hey BCM Maint,

Question. I am curious....can you make a page and then press the Drop or End Call button and listen to the speaker? Do you get a "Click" or disconnect "Pop" when you press the button? Or does the page end completely silentl like when using a Nortel Feature 62?

It ends silently when I press the drop call button and the phone screen goes to the "home" screen I guess you would call it.

For the Page Pal:

If you use an analog STATION, you set the Page Pal to "SA" on the front panel, and plug into the modular on the back. The IP Office extension port is programmed as IVR. You dial the extension number, it rings, the PagePal answers, you are able to page.

If you are using an analog TRUNK, set the PagePal to "LS" and plug into the modular. Dial a short code that is simply "dial" on the outgoing trunk group for the trunk you are connecting to.

The PagePal does NOT work by using the DL setting and putting the IP Office's analog station port on Page Port. The PagePal also requires a contact closure across the 2nd pair on the modular jack during the page.

In all cases, the ringing over paging is done with a single line station port on the IPO connected to terminals 19 and 20
