OVBACKUP GUI

1. Exit all OpenView GUIs.
2. It is recommended that the administrator send a message to all users prior to performing the backup. The opcwall utility can be used. The following is the syntax of the script:
opcwall [-user <user_name>] <Message Text> e
3. Enter the following command at the prompt:
ovbackup.ovpl –operational –analytical -d /opt/ovbackup e
Note: only use “-analytical” if data has been exported to the DataWarehouse. Ovbackup.ovpl will display an error of “-analytical” option is selected without data in the DataWarehouse to backup.
4. The /opt/ovbackup/ovbackup directory should be copied to tape after a successful backup.
