Outlook2002 - Email disappears when 'send' clicked

The email disappears when the send button is pressed. The email doesn't show up in the outbox, sent items, and is not received by the recipient.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Under the Tools menu, Options, Then E-mail options button, is the "Save copies of messages in sent items folder" button clicked?
