Outlook XP to Outlook Express

Hi,

I want to transfer all my e-mails and contacts from my XP pro machine running Outlook XP to my other XP pro machine running Outlook Express. On the main machine I did a file export and saved the mail as *.pst file. Then I burned the *.pst file to a cd rom.

On the Outlook Express machine.. I do a file import, messages, and choose Outlook.
Then I get the following error message..

"Messages cannot be imported from MAPI client."

Because you don't have Outlook installed on the machine. You need Outlook to import the pst files into OE. joegz

So first I must install Outlook Xp onto the machine. Then import the mail from outlook XP into OE. Then I can delete Outlook XP. Is that correct?
I had a feeling that was the case.
