Outlook wants to select fax vs. email

Why is it that Outlook seems to arbritrarily decide sometimes to select the fax address instead of email address? In Outlook 2002, when creating an email I begin to enter an addressee and normally Outlook recognizes the name and pops the email address up there for me. Sometimes it will pop up the persons fax info instead, even if I have never sent them a fax. Once it does that it seems to automatically choose that fax info instead of email info each time. Is there a way to correct this?

Only type a portion of the name - enough to get the red squigly line. When you're done hit send and you will be prompted for which address you want.

Once it starts choosing 1 (like the fax address), it will continue to do so because of the nickname cache. Search your hard drive for the *.nk2 file and delete it.
