I'm using Outlook 2000 and ever since using the program, whenever I click the TO button to add people to an email, the dialog that appeared was always sorted by first name first. My contact address book, however, is sorted by last name, since I've set the options for the address book to sort by last name.
I have not changed ANY outlook view/option/property settings, but all of a sudden a week ago the TO dialog box sorts the names by last name first. My husband's Outlook did the same thing.
I can't find any settings anywhere in Outlook that controls the sort order in the TO dialog box - all the settings refer to the address book as it appears in the contact folder.
It's a bit of a pain just because for years I've been used to typing the first name first in that TO box - but no big deal other than that I'm concerned how this could possibly be. I'm suspecting a virus or something - yet we are 'religious' in updating our definitions and use considerable protection (hardware/software firewalls on top of virus protection).
Has anyone else seen this behaviour? TIA!
Cindy
