How do I get the outlook.pst to be the active one on the new hard drive - specifically the contacts to be the contacts? When I checked to use Contacts as my email address book, it added a 2nd contacts folder with my folks in it. The first one is still empty and I have to choose the 2nd one each time I need to address an email.

If your using the full outlook client go to File, Import and Export. Select import from another program of file. Click next and then scroll down until you see PST file. You should then be able to point to the old pst file and import it.

Use Tools -> Address Book .... Tools -> Options and set the 'Show this address list first' to the correct folder.
