exchange server 5.5 on w2k...
Outlook 2002 over internet to exchange...
pop3 works, smtp works to a point....
if my outlook contains a "common" display name for an email address that I type in, it replaces the email with the "real" or "common" display name.

the exchange server comes back and says Unknown Recipient and references the name, like it tried to deliver to "joe shmoe" instead of js@domain.com .....

thanks, of course

ok... im an idiot.... dolt maybe...

the domain is currently hosted elswhere, even though I have it set for INBOUND untill nameservers are updated... so the message was never delivered cause there are no mailboxes with ANY name on that domain...
