I have always stored my OE 6 "mail" folder on my "D" drive. Have formatted my C drive many times and put everything right and they all show up again because they're on my D drive. This time, I had to move everything off my D drive and, when I put it back, it looks like everything's there but it doesn't show up in my Outlook any more. My folders are gone, messages are gone, etc. They're still there but I can't get them to "work" with Outlook any more. Maybe I moved a read-only file or some such thing that can't be moved then moved back? Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Outlook Express
File-Import Messages
Select program - oe6
Import from an oe6 store
Point to folder where the inbox.dbx you want is located.

Did that. Won't work. Says no messages can be found in this folder. I know they're there. I downloaded a trial version of another program that can view outlook express mail and it did it fine but I want it back where it belongs.... ANy ideas?

Been there... tried that... get this message:

"The specified message store could not be opened. It may be in use by Outlook Express"

It seems to work... open up OE and they move... but they don't come... I moved the file folder when I cleaned up drive D without using Outlook to move the contents and probably a hidden file of some sort didn't move with it like it should have so now it can't access it like it used to...sigh.

Witch folder are you pointing to .
You may have to recreated the special numeric folder,
and the folders under it,put the mailfiles in there
and import from {EDBA....} folder.

Original path look like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\"USERNAME"\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{EDBA67F0-F7A3-4DAE-B8D9-3ECD8F3A1F5C}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
