Hi, I have a problem similar to one that's already been referenced in this forum (thread68-969465) - but unfortunately, its only similar. I have a user who cannot open Word docs with Outlook. If she receives a .doc file as an attachment, outlook tries to open it as a .bmp file, using Paint - and it can't! I know this has to be an incorrect registry edit, but I've been all through the registry, and I can't seem to find it anywhere ... any ideas of how to correct the problem? Thanks!

Have you looked under Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Types, DOC extension, Advanced button, open option, Edit button and see what application is associated with that extrnsion?

Yep, she doesn't have any problems opening the files normally. If she saves the attachment to her hard drive, she can open them, no problem. It's just Outlook that struggles.
