Hi,

I am asking if there is an easier way to simply assign all Mail folders (i.e. Inbox and all user created stores) to another user. Currently, when one user (such as a Personal Assistant) requires access to another user's mailbox (such as a Director's), I have to perform the tedious task of assigning the appropriate rights on EVERY folder (including subfolders). If the MD has about 100 folders, you can imagine the time wasted in performing this tedious task not to mention the fact that if the MD creates a new folder, it wont have the appropriate permissions set.

Sorry if that sounds confusing...

I am basically requesting a method which provides one user with the complete mailbox structure of another user.

I have look before but have not had luck. I really dont want to have to provide permissions again on about 60-100 folders.

Thanks.

On the server , give that user Full access right to the mailbox, that is all.

On exchange 5.5 server, is the only way to do this to create a group and assign the applicable persons to this group, even if it's only for two people?

Do you have an Exchange 2000 server or an Exchange 5.5 server? This is the Exchange 2000 forum.

For Exchange 2000, we'll assume:

User A - users mailbox to which you need User B to have full access to, including all subfolders.

Open ADUC, set View to Advanced, then find User A, go to Properties/Exchange Advanced/Mailbox Rights and grant user B full access.

Now user B can open user A's mailbox, including any new folders user A might create.

Thanks marcs and lander...My apologies for posting in the incorrect forum...I do have exchange 5.5, but I'm pretty confident that the only way to do what I'm suggesting is to create and then assign a group.
