I've been using Outlook Express 5 for nearly a year with no problems. Suddenly is is saying that it "is not currently your default mail client" and when I try to make it the default (like it has been forever) I get the following message.
"Simple MAPI support could not be established because MAPISTUB.DLL could not be found in the system directory or failed to load."
I searched my system and found MAPI32.DLL MAPI32X.DLL MAPIU.DLL MAPIU32.DLL MAPIX.DLL AND MAPIX32.DLL Should OE 5 be using one of these, or is MAPISTUB in addition to these? I don't want to interfere with the 32 bit stuff, and the "STUB" name makes me think it might.

you may want to find where it's located on another sytem and then copying it to yours.

to extract the file go to start>programs>accessories>System Tools>System Information

Then go tools and down to system file checker. Then put the dot in "Extract one file from installation disk" and put in the file name that you want to extract. Then hit start down below and you should be all set. restart windows after you do this just for good measure.
