outlook express outbox sent mail problem

I have outlook express 6.0 with all updates from msft. When messages are sent they are not removed from the outbox and not copied to sentmail.

I have tried erasing outbox.dbx and restarting OE6 but I still have the problem. The error box that pops up is blank.

The messages do get sent?

With OE closed, try deleting your 'sent items.dbx' file. Anything that you want to keep should be moved to another folder first of course. If that doesn't cure it, reply back with what virus scanner you're using.

Yes, I have con firmed that the e-mails are being sent.

eraseing the large 2gb+ sent mail folder and making it empty worked. It appears that when i copied it back the problem came back. I might have to split the sent mail folder. \

Is there a max sizefor dbxfiles in outlook express? would it be better to convert OE6 to Outlook?

2gb is really too big for OE or Outlook 2002 (or earlier) - you're just asking for trouble trying to use it this big. One thing that might help manually compact all your folders. Before doing so, read

Unfortunately I had to move all the sent mail to multiple folders in OE6. My sent mail box is now empty and is working fine now. Unfortunately the sent mail folders I created only have my name as the sender and not the receivers name.
