I have two PCs connecting to the net via my main machine using internet sharing, one of them will not send or receive e-mails while the other will. I have tried swapping the accounts with no joy. Internet explorer works fine but outlook express pops up a box to confirm the logon password then times out, both machines have windows ME while the main one is XP the account and network settings appear identical can anyone shed some liht one this please.

are you setting the same email account up in both p.c.'s? if so, it may be trying to logon to the mail server at the same time where you would get that error.

if not, what type of mail server is it (pop, imap, http)?

No its a different email account and I have tried it with the other users on the network logged off. It is a pop3 mail server. It is strange that I can connect to the account using the other PC so I dont think its an account problem

that is strange.... have you tried setting the other email account in that pc? or deleting the account and adding it back in? also remember for some reason outlook express will sometimes seem like it gives the same error over and over even though it has been fixed the first time. well, its been like that for me a few times anyway.
