Dear Greater I.T. Intellect,

I have a user here that uses outlook express to send ms word email mail merges. Pls. don't ask me why we are not using ms outlook...that's whole other story.

The user was able to select 'outlook express' as an 'internet program: email' w/n i.e. options. Outlook express is no longer an option under the drop down menu. Any ideas why it disappeared?

I'm not sure that the client hardware specs are applicable here. WinXPProsp2, Off2000proSp2 (will upgrade to offxppro shortly, to get back outlookxp mail merge functionality).

Much Obliged,

mgodinez

Try running repair on IE
Control Panel > Add/remove programs > highlight Microsoft Internet Explorer and Internet Tools > hti Add/Rmove > select Repair option

Carrr,

Thanks for the reply. What's strange about IE6, WinXPProSP2...is that i.e. & tools are not listed in the add/remove prog listing. I've read ways to deinstall ie6 (which seems very sticky), and seen several tools/run options to register (.dll) and repair ie6. But the good ole, add/remove prog repair tool seems missing.

I came across an article that says to run the following, to get oe back into the ie program listing:

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

After doing a search online under this run command, this advise seems credible. I will give it a try on the user's client, and let y'all know the outcome.

Much obliged,

mgodinez

Yep. Go with it. Overlooked the fact that you were running XP...
