I have a windows 2000 box with office XP on it. When I installed MSN messenger onto my machine it automatically launches messenger whenever I open up outlook express.

This is an annoying inconvience. I can disable messenger from logging on but I don't want Outlook to launch MSN messenger at all.

Is there a way to disable MSN messenger without uninstalling it?

Please HELP!!!!! I am tired of this.

Hello. Open outlook express then go to tools scroll down to options.Open options. under the general tab uncheck the box that says "AUTOMATICALLY LOG ON TO WINDOWS MESSENGER

sorry man that box is already unchecked. I don't know what is doing it. maybe it is just an outlook update. I am running VER 6.00.280 if that helps anyone.

ok. try to go to options in messenger under general and uncheck the box that says automatically sign in when connected to the internet. If it is still checked.
