Hello Everyone,

Okay, I finally uninstalled SP2 updates for XP Pro, and the fixed my issue for sending word documents. However, now when I receive emails with a word document attached I can't down load it or open it, because Outlook Express gives me this message below:

OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail: <filename>

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem. I did scan my entire PC for viruses and don't seem to have any now.

Hi smah,

It is /was greying out the attchment, it seemed somehow(user error i am sure... :) ) that the option was set to check for the viruses. I unselected the option... and it works just fine now... What was wierd was it thought everything was a virus for some reason... thanks for all your help...

This is where I get on my soapbox.......[soapbox]

It didn't think that everthing was a virus, it is only trying to prevent possible virii. Word documents, as well as many other types of files, can contain virii. MS created this feature quite some time ago to help prevent the spread of virii by users that just blindly open all attachments. There is nothing wrong with disabling this feature as long as you run an up to date virus scanner and keep it up to date! If you're not running an up to date virus scanner and you open unknown/unexpected attachments you will undoubtedly end up adding to the virus problems that we have.

OK, I'll get down now.
