outlook express and windows' messenger

i use msn messenger. when i start up outlook express windows' messenger loads aswell. how can i stop this, or at least point outlook at the correct messenger service?

Seanbo - I will assume you are using XP. - Click on start, help and support, in the little box at top left hand corner type &quot;messenger&quot; without the commas and follow instructions to disable messenger. There is another way of doing it but this evades me at the moment. Also, remember that MSN messenger and windows messenger are two different identities.

There are other possibilities, such as disabling Windows Messenger entirely, if you can't find any other reasonable solutions.

Tools - Options - General - uncheck automatically logon to windows messenger.
