Outlook Express 5 error with new message

Outlook Express 5 receives mail OK, but when clicking on New Message, an error is returned, "There was an error opening this message. There is not enough memory".

The lap top has 40MB ram and plenty of disk space free.
Yahoo mail works OK

I don't think it would be related to the inbox, but you could try the same thing on the inbox. Just be sure to move your mail to another folder while you do this otherwise, you will lose all your mail.

If that doesn't help, the only other thing I can suggest is a reinstall of OE (and maybe IE).
