Scenario: 10 client network I assisted upgrading to SBS 2003. The clients previously used Outlook Express and individual POP accounts with their ISP for e-mail (no internal e-mail server at all.) With the SBS upgrade, we connected them to Exchange as follows:
1. Install Outlook 2003 choosing to upgrade Outlook Express.
2. Create an e-mail account for "Exchange Server" and set as the default account.
3. Copy the existing mail out of the personal folders left behind by Express into the new Exchange Mailbox.
This worked fine on the first 9 clients which are a mixture of XP Pro and 2K. The 10th however (Win2K) had the following problem:
Trying to create an Exchange Server account from within Outlook goves the following error:
Following directions and using the CP Applet to add an Exchange account produces the following:
We were using the correct server name and account (remember, this worked on the first 9 machines). The machine is running Win2KSP4. It is correctly joined to the domain and the DNS server is correctly set to the SBS server's IP. I can ping the server by name, navigate to all shares, etc.
Any suggestions?
Jeff
