Hi all:

I have to reinstall the operating system and wish to
backup Outlook's PST file.

Does a mere copy of the PST file to a network drive and
re-copy to re-formatted local drive do the job or must I
do export/import

The PST file is 150 MB and would take a lot of time
exporting and importing

Will a copy work?

Thanks

You don't say what version of Outlook.
If Outlook 2000 or 2002, then just copy .PST file is fine (if upgraded from previous version may have .PAB file too).
If Outlook 97 or 98, then copy both .PST and .PAB files.

After reinstalling your OS, reinstall Outlook. Find out where the default .PST (and .PAB) files are located. Copy your .PST (and .PAB) files to same location.
Is it Happy Hour yet?
