Outlook: Attaching an Item

One of my guys came up to me with an Outlook attachment problem. When he was using Outlook 2000 he had an option under Insert called Item when sending a new mail or replying to a mail. I have noticed that this option only appears when using the built in text editor as your e-mail editor. when you use Word as your e-mail editor Insert->Item is no longer there. Is there a way to get Item under Insert when using Word as your e-mail editor.

You can accomplish the same task by clicking the paper clip in the email heading. Or click Insert File (You need to be in the body of the email in order to have that option).
