Outlook Appointments problem " Request-out-of-date"

Can somebody help with the following problem?

When appointments scheduled to a personal group, receipients
receive appointment but when accepting only certain users in that specific group get the following message "Request-out-of-date" and when they accept it the appointment reflects in the deleted items folder and does not appear in Calendar. The date on the appointment is correct - scheduled for e.g. 18 October 2003 .THis problem is intermediate.
It appears to be date related but we already checked our regional settings.
Long date format dd MMMM yyyy
Short date format dd/MM/yyyy
Platform:
Outlook 2000 server (exchange server)

Thanks Joegz for your reply. But our problem is that "request-out-of-date" appears before acceptance of appointment. Some users in the group accept it successfully but others get the request-out-of-date in the information bar - appearing in the deleted box. The appointment is a new schedule and not an update of an existing one.
