I am trying to implement e-mail certificates for my company and running into specific issues with digital signatures. These issues only occur on Outlook 2002 clients. The Outlook 2000 clients work fine.

Here's the situation. When an OL2002 user opens an e-mail message that contains a digital signature there is a warning displayed. It says, "Warning: The Certificate Revocation List needed to verify the signing certificate is either unavailable or it has expired." The OL2002 user doesn't receive this warning and the digital signature is processed without incident.

I have researched the issue and tried to modify things as recommended in a couple of Microsoft KB articles. Here's an example:

This UseCRLChasing option can be set to a value of 2, meaning to never check the Certificate Revocation List. I set it accordingly and still my OL2002 clients receive the warning mentioned above.

Any suggestions?
