I just can't figure it out why this is happening:

I just installed win xp pro on a new computer with office 2003 when the user is typing a message like every minute or so the desktop becomes the active window so they have to click on the actual message to get back to typing. I disabled syncronizing but still does that any ideas?

Thanks

i have seen this happen before where the user mistakenly hits a key without knowing it when typing.

see if you can narrow down whether or not the problem occurs with the pc idle, no kb or mouse inputs, and outlook is the focus window in the foreground.

also, you may want to just watch the user as they are typing to see if there are any clues there - could even be a defective keyboard, possibly...

I tried a few things Disabled cached mode, sync. created a new profile and it keeps happening it almost look like a window opens and closes inmediately but you can see it is almost l;ike a popup.

wish i could be more help, but of course the first thing to check for is adware/malware/viruses --

plus you should view the processes list and look for something unusual running - and if possible monitor cpu usage by process, if you can just happen to see which process spikes when the focus shift occurs, maybe you can narrow down the cause.

could it be related to active desktop, or maybe a notification icon in the taskbar, that pops up informational messages?

this is a strange one...
