I am connecting to Exchange 5.5 across my LAN using Outlook 98 as my client.

Why is it that I have to re-enter the username and domain boxes every time I want to login? Some other PC's on the network don't have to.

Why?

Any help on this would be gratefully received!

Regards
Darren

You need to do the following.
Open Outlook. Go to Tools > Services. Select Exchange. properties > Advanced. Tick use Network Security during Logon Box.

This should sort it out for the next time you open Outlook.

I don't have a tick box, I have a drop down menu called Logon Network Security. There are three options:

1)NT Password Authentication
2)Distributed Password Authentication
3)None

I have tried them all, and it makes no difference.

Any more ideas?

Assuming that you have to supply a domain logon ID and password to access your network you then want to use the option NT Password Authentication. What this does is validates your access to your mailbox by using your Domain ID and password you used to logon.

If this doesn't work then this could mean that your ID for your mailbox does not match your domain credentials. Or that your domain ID does not have access to the mailbox.

Either way this is an issue that your internal IT group would need to address and is not an Outlook issue. joegz
