Outlook 2007 Distribution List

I am having problems with distribution lists that are created locally. I can create a DL and I can see it in Contacts, but when I create a new message and click on To: then I select Contacts, I only see 3 distribution lists out of 5 that I have. Any clue how to make the rest of them visible?

Do the "missing" DLs have people in them, or are they empty?
