Using Outlook 2003, reply messages from 2 senders both using a University Web Mail: sometimes the reply message disappears from the email upon viewing in preview/reading pane or upon opening up message, BUT I KNOW it had a message because I can see it in the Alert Box when the message comes in. If I am quick enough to click the alert box, I never lose the message, but I don't ALWAYS lose the message, so I don't know if this makes a difference or not. The original message is kept in the message body; just the reply disappears. Attachments remain. Using XP Home SP2, ZA free firewall, AVG free anti-virus, Outlook 2003. All updates complete.
