At work I have been given access to a shared folder on the work server. This folder holds an Outlook calendar (HIM Calendar) for making and viewing appointments only. This calendar doesn't seem to belong to an actual person therefore
I can not just click the link called open shared folder.
Instead I must go to folders, then public folders, then Compandy name folders, then HIM folders, then Calendar folders, to access this calendar.
Q: Is there any way to create a shortcut on the desktop to this calendar?
Q: Is there any way to create a shortcut in my calendar section of Outlook to this calendar?

Thank you in advance,
Vince Hamilton

I asked the same question of our MSExchange Master - he said no. It's hard to believe that it cannot be done, so I'd love to hear otherwise too.

I'm not much of an expert but I have access to a shared folder in outlook that is a calander and I can create a shortcut to it on my desktop.

Using outlook, right click on the folder you wish to create a shortcut for and choose 'Send Link to this folder'. This creates a email with a shortcut in it, copy/paste the shortcut to your desk and voila you are all set.

Again this works for me in outlook 2002. I don't know if there is something different for your configuration or outlook version.

Hope this helps,

Andy
