I'm having problems with Outlook 2003. It is set up to go through our POP3 server. The global address list does not show up when clicking on the TO: button. I've tried to configure it by going to tool/send-receive/send-receive settings/ but the option to select the address book isn't available. Please help...

Outlook 2003 - Exchange Address List Missing...

I have a user with a very similar problem. If she composes a new mail message then the GAL is displayed with no problems. If however, she wants to send an attachment and then goes to a folder view, selects the file for attaching, then right clicks and chooses 'send to email recipient'. This opens up a balnk email and if she clicks on the 'To' button she doesn't get the GAL displayed. I have given her a work around which is to create the email first, then browse to the folder and drage and drop the attachment into the email.
This works, but obviously, I'd like to know why Outlook is behaving in this manner.
I have checked the usual suspects in this - Tools, Options menu, GAL is the default address list (as confirmed by the fact that Outlook is only doing it for this one user and that it IS displayed under all circumstances with the exception of the attachment method).

I think I have resolved my issue with this which MAY help the others.
When my user is using the 'standard' option she is using Microsoft Outlook. BUT, when she selects the file to send it as an attachment, she has defaulted to using Outlook Express as her email client... As you all can probably guess, Outlook is using POP3 to connect to the Exchange server whereas Outlook Express is using IMAP... Which means that we have not defined a Directory for the GAL using LDAP. I have changed the user's default to using OUtlook and hey presto, it works. If I had wanted to use IMAP I could have created the Directory (using LDAP) and that would have worked also.
