After some serious problems with the data store on our Exchange Server 5.5, and running the ESEUTIL and ISINTEG utilities until the cows came home, it is now up and running. The only one still having problems is me. I alone am running Outlook 2003. When I try to syncronize in cached mode, Outlook gives the following message:

Task ‘Microsoft Exchange Server’ reported error (0x8004010F) : ‘The operation failed. An object could not be found.’

When I try to run outlook without the cache, I get:

Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The information store could not be opened.

Outlook then shuts down. I have tried deleting and recreating the mailbox on the server, to no avail. I have also deleted the account in Outlook, also to no avail. I do not know what else to try.

The server has been generally patched with whatever patches are available (including the one specific to Outlook 2003), so I do not think that is it. And it was working fine before it got corrupted. Suggestions appreciated.

If it is worth it to you. Give this a try.

ISINTEG -PRI -FIX -TEST ALLTESTS

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

We've tried that repeatedly. However, one mailbox (mine) remains inaccessible. If I could simply delete it and start over again, that would be great. However, that does not seem to work.

Did you delete it and give it time to defrag the space you had allocated for your mailbox. Maybe that portion of your .edb file is corrupted. I would delete mailbox and do an offline defrag.
