Outlook 2002 (XP) - RPC calls

Some Outlook 2002 (XP) users are complaining about the "Requesting data from Microsoft Exchange Server". It hangs their Outlook for a while. Sometimes for a long time as it's communicating with remote servers (I presume Public Folder data).

I know it is a notification about a delayed RPC and have found articles on what it means but I have found nothing on MS KB or TechNet to rectify it. I have seen a comment on one bulletin board that Win2K SP3 fixes it, however I have seen other notices where people are using SP3 and still having the problem.

Anyone got any experience of this?
