Hello.

I am trying to set up auto reply for my Outlook 2002. I am not using Exchange so I will be leaving the computer on and use Rule Wizard to accomplish this.

I have followed instruction (the same one from many site) to create a 'out of office' template.

- create a new message (plain text, ms word as editor OFF)
- save as .oft (template)
- click CLOSE

after this, the message tend to 'sit' in the outbox eventhough i didn't click SEND. why?

then i go to rule wizard to create rule to use 'out of office' template to reply. this doesn't work.

i found that the only way it will auto reply is by using the default 'mail.oft' template. but the thing is, this template is just a blank email. no other template would work.

also, another strange thing is that the rule will only work for the 1st email i receive. i tried sending 3 emails and only the 1st one get an auto reply. why? if i restart outlook, again, only the 1st email get an auto reply.

any idea why? i have been playing with this the whole day but can't get it to work eventhoough i have followed the instruction.

pls help. thnaks in advance.

Oopss..

Never mind. I found out that Outlook will only send 1 email to a send per session.
