Finally changed from OE to Outlook and want to be able to do a couple of things but can't find them.

1. empty deleted items folder on exit

2. have folders in order I'd like rather than alphabetical

I'm sure number 1 is there somewhere but think number 2 ain't possible.

1. empty deleted items folder on exit

Is at Tools ->Options on the Other tab

2. have folders in order I'd like rather than alphabetical

You can't do this in the folder list, but if you use the Outlook bar (View ->Outlook Bar) you can order you folders owever you want. You can also add new groups to the Outlook bar to further sort your folders. Just right click anywhere on the Outlook bar (left hand side after you enable the Outlook bar) and it will give you several options to customize the Outlook bar.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply, can't understand how I didn't see the deleted items folder option. Must have looked at the others tab so any times and missed it.

Didn't think the folders could be ordered. Never mind it would just have been useful.

Sometimes if you look too hard you can't find what you're looking for. I don't know how many times I've done that.

I use the Outlook bar instead of the folders list. I find its much easier to read and makes my Outlook look less cluttered. I've got 5 separate groups set up (Admin, EMail, IT, Corporate (our Public folders), and Software & Tax (we're an accounting firm). By using small icons, with five groups, you can fit 12 folders in each group so that you never have to scroll within the group.

Cheers.
