Outlook 2000 synchronization seems to hang

We have an executive who is running Outlook 2000 on Windows XP with all the updates. When he closes Outlook his synchronization gets up to about 90% and then seems to hang on the "sychronization log". I deleted his .ost and .oab and log file and it still seems to do this most of the time but not everytime. Its inconsistent.

Anyone have any ideas?
