I've had a good delve in the rules section but cannot seem to find/create a rule to do the following.

Tranfser sent message to particular folder based on the sending account / email address?

Ta!

You can create a rule to move a sent message based on the email address that you are sending it to, but I'm don't believe you can create a rule based on the email address that you are sending it from.

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

if you have exchange server & outlook can you do this?

say you have two email aliases which you use... al1 & al2

you generally use al1 but occassionally use al2. when you send out emails you use the from: field yes? So your Outlook profile is setup to use al1.

setup a different profile to use al2, open Outlook then set a rule that says "any mail from me then copy it to "whatever"". these rules should be kept on the server and are active all the time.

When you go back to using your al1 everyday account the rule will still be enforced just for al2.

if this works then I'll be surprised but i can't think of any reason why it shouldn't.

optimism that's what i need...

Thanks Varuna,

We don't run Exchange, we have MDaemon but I think it has the same functions more or less. I'll give it a shot.

Many thanks again!!

Outlook 2002 (XP) has an option for this in the Rules Wizard, but I don't have access to 2000 to check it...

It's called "through the specified account"

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Oh, and this option won't show up unless you start with a blank rule (not using templates)
