Outlook 2000 PST file

I had a user that could not find email outlook 2000 was lookinf for thr pst file I went to the folder in local settings/application data /microsoft /outlook and mapped to this file now my user has lost the last three months of email I have searched for other pst files but none contain the email from January to march does outlook use any othe extensions besides pst for mail

have you run an advanced search in the archive folder to make sure the emails arent just hidden in "outlook today" or something?
also maybe the pst is saved on another partition or network drive?

I had no archive file and have scanned the entire network for pst files with no luck

Take a look at the archive settings. He might be deleting message from 3 months ago.

Go to tools, Options, Other, Archive settings. You can tell outlook just to delete anything older that 3 months.
